Checking out last minute details and ready for the festivities to begin at the Oak Brook Chapter’s signature 2018 Holiday fundraisers: Mistletoe Chair
(and Chapter Vice President) Lou Smeja.
Grazie mille! (a heartfelt thanks) to all of the very special people and organizations who helped make the Oak Brook Chapter’s 2018 signature Holiday fundraising events a wonderful success.

Certainly, all of the hard work paid off – with nearly 1,000 attendees over two days at the 2018 Holiday events. Leading the way were: Kathy Sievertsen and Christa Griffith, co-chairs of the Monday night “Buone Feste” Preview Party, and Lou Smeja, Mistletoe Medley Chair. In addition, there were 33 committee coordinators and committee members who supported them.

A long-time supporter of Mistletoe Medley, the popular Allison Rosati (NBC-5 News Anchor) again served as Honorary Chair and Master of Ceremonies. In her remarks, Allison recognized longtime donors and supporters, Joe and Nives Rizza, who marked 25 years of giving to the Infant Welfare Society. In honor of the occasion, the Rizzas generously underwrote a $25,000 MEGA Cash Raffle.

In recognition of their extraordinary loyalty, dedication and commitment to the Infant Welfare Society, the Oak Brook Chapter gave donors Nives and Joe Rizza a commemorative plaque for being inspirational philanthropists.
On stage for the presentation to the Rizzas were (left to right): Allison Rosati (Master of Ceremonies), Susan Santefort (Special Raffle Co-Chair) and Nives Rizza.
The 2018 Monday night Preview Party was fun, festive and had an Italian flair and flavor. It featured a number of enhancements that included Bellinis, a Gelato Station, desserts such as cannoli and Italian cookies, plus classical singers Diana and Dan Richardson. Guests also had the opportunity to do some shopping as they visited the 38 Holiday Showroom boutiques.

The Mistletoe Medley luncheon/fashion show again provided attendees with good food and great company during lunch, as well as a cutting-edge fashion presentation from well-known producer Tracey Tarantino and Zzazz Productions. This year’s runway event got rave reviews and showcased stunning fashions from famed Italian designers such as Dolce & Gabbana and Roberto Cavalli.
