Although the holidays may seem
far away, they are never far from
the thoughts of our Chapter members. Planning for our seasonal fundraisers is already well underway! ‘Buone Feste!’ (Happy Holidays!...with an Italian flare) is the 2018 theme.

The Co-chairs of our Preview Party – Kathy Sievertsen and Christa Griffith – are working hard to create another fun and festive start to the holidays at
our Monday evening event on November 26th. And, Mistletoe Medley Chair Lou Smeja and her Committee are doing their best to make our signature 2018 luncheon/fashion show, slated for Tuesday, November 27th, another one for the record books.

Our Chapter’s June Luncheon and Annual Baby Shower is a time-honored and popular tradition. This year, we will meet on June 20th at Topaz Restaurant in Burr Ridge. The focus, of course, is on how the Angel Harvey Family Health Center helps the littlest patients.
Every year, we enjoy coming together to reflect on the past year as we look ahead to our 2018 Holiday events. The Annual Baby Shower/Luncheon is full of fun, friendship and philanthropy, the latter in the form of dozens of beautiful gifts for babies at the Center. Of course, there is always “oohing and aahing” over the outfits, baby gear and nursery decor donated by our generous members. It is gratifying to know that our contributions will be enjoyed and put to good use by Center families!
Our June event culminates with the installation of our new Officers. We are pleased to announce our 2018-2019 Oak Brook Chapter Officers:
President: Minnie Sandstedt
Vice President – Special Projects: Lou Smeja
Recording Secretary: Suzanne Gorden
Corresponding Secretary: Natalie Machul
Treasurer: Elizabeth (Liz) Berglund
Assistant Treasurer: Nelly Naguib
The Chapter sponsored a “Shop-and-Sip” fundraiser in May, at The Design Bar in Burr Ridge. It was an enjoyable evening of Design, Drinks and Décor. 15% of the evening’s sales are being donated to the Oak Brook Chapter. Funds raised will help bring the gifts of medical care and healing to more children and families in need at the Angel Harvey Family Health Center.
