Preparations for the Oak Brook Chapter’s signature Holiday fundraising events – ‘Buone Feste!’ (Happy Holidays!...with an Italian flare) Preview Party and Mistletoe Medley Luncheon/Fashion Presentation – are in full swing.

Organized and hosted by members Natalie Machul, Beverly Taylor, Marge Tresley, and Shirley Tsourmas, our Annual Baby Shower in June netted almost $3,300 in donations of beautiful new baby clothes and much-needed baby gear. A popular Oak Brook Chapter tradition, the Annual Baby Shower combines philanthropy and community service to help the littlest patients at the Clinic.
‘Buone Feste!’ Preview Party co-chairs Kathy Sievertsen and Christa Griffith have added some new things for this year’s Italian-themed Monday night event (November 26, from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.). Luscious treats await guests at this festive and colorful Preview Party including hors d’oeuvres, a Gelato Station, Italian-inspired cocktails, and dessert bar. Sure to be a highlight of the evening is the boutique shopping and entertainment by classical singers Diana & Dan Richardson. This year’s Silent Auction and Preferred Raffle offerings include a weekend stay at the Palm Beach Breakers Hotel with airline miles; a $1,000 Nieman Marcus shopping spree with hotel stay/theater tickets; a Magical Mexican Getaway; a Craft Beer package;
a BBQ experience package for 20 guests; a March Madness Las Vegas hotel/NCAA tickets package; and much more. And, new this year is
a Vintage Tree with Stash of Cash Raffle.

Mistletoe Medley co-chair Lou Smeja and her team are enhancing this year’s Tuesday (November 27) Luncheon/Fashion event, including
five (5) Special $5,000 Cash Raffle prizes, donated by Nives and Joe Rizza. This year’s Mega Cash Raffle drawings mark 25 years
of generous donations by Nives and Joe Rizza to the Oak Brook Chapter of the Infant Welfare Society. And, the guests will enjoy good food and good company during lunch, as well as watch a Holiday fashion presentation from well-known producer Tracey Tarantino and Zzazz Productions. Allison Rosati, NBC-5 News Anchor, will return as Honorary Chair and Master of Ceremonies.

If you would like further information on our ‘Buone Feste!’ event, please contact Kathy (630-853-1213) or Christa (630-699-5535). For details on Mistletoe Medley, please contact Lou (630-508-3344). Or, please email us at:  OakBrookiws1@gmail.com. On-line reservations will be accepted beginning October 15 at: www.oakbrookchapterinfantwelfare.org.

As the countdown to our Holiday events begins, the Chapter will again host its Holiday Traditions socializer – a Champagne, Wine & Food Experience. Jointly sponsored by the Chapter and Merry Richards Jewelers, the event will be held on Thursday, October 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. For details and to RSVP for the Holiday Traditions event, please inquire via email at:  OakBrookiws1@gmail.com
